CVT Honda BRGA

The Honda BRGA, or G-Shift, continuously variable transmission has been produced at the Japanese plant since 2016 and is installed on the all-wheel-drive version of the fifth-generation CR-V with a 1.5-liter L15BE turbo engine. A similar transmission for the front-wheel-drive version of this crossover is designated BRHA.

  • Honda CR-V 5 (RW) in 2016 – 2023.

Disadvantages of the Honda BRGA gearbox

  • The main thing is to change the lubricant, as well as the fine and coarse filters, every 40,000 km;
  • Neglecting this often results in clogged filters and a drop in oil pressure;
  • Then the CVT begins to jolt, which leads to rapid wear of the belt and cones.
