The Honda BRGA, or G-Shift, continuously variable transmission has been produced at the Japanese plant since 2016 and is installed on the all-wheel-drive version of the fifth-generation CR-V with a 1.5-liter L15BE turbo engine. A similar transmission for the front-wheel-drive version of this crossover is designated BRHA.

Gear ratios Honda BRGA
Using the 2018 Honda CR-V with a 1.5-liter engine as an example:
| Forward | 2.645 – 0.405 |
| Reverse | 2.645 |
| Final Drive | 5.640 |
Using
The transmission was installed on:
- Honda CR-V 5 (RW) in 2016 – 2023.
Disadvantages of the Honda BRGA gearbox
- The main thing is to change the lubricant, as well as the fine and coarse filters, every 40,000 km;
- Neglecting this often results in clogged filters and a drop in oil pressure;
- Then the CVT begins to jolt, which leads to rapid wear of the belt and cones.
