The Volkswagen 087 3-speed automatic transmission was first introduced in 1982 and essentially replaced the popular 010 transmission in Audi vehicles. This automatic transmission is designed for engines up to 2.3 liters and 220 Nm of torque.

Disadvantages of the Volkswagen 087 gearbox
- This transmission is extremely reliable, and its service life can reach up to 500,000 km;
- Only the brake band and various seals need to be replaced periodically;
- If you ignore an oil leak, you may end up needing a gearbox replacement.
