Disadvantages of the Volkswagen 090 gearbox
- The transmission is exceptionally durable; 500,000 km is a normal mileage for it;
- The lubricant, seals, and brake band in this transmission require periodic replacement;
- A drop in oil level can cause gearbox failure, so keep an eye on it.
