The 4-speed automatic transmission Jatco JF414E or AY-K3 or RE4F03C has been produced by the company since 2010 and is installed on many budget models of the Japanese concern, such as March, Almera and AD Van.

In 2010, a new 4-speed automatic transmission, designated RE4F03C by Nissan, was introduced, but it was essentially just an upgrade of the 1989 RE4F03A. This transmission was designed for significantly less powerful engines than its predecessor, so Japanese engineers managed to make it slightly lighter, more compact, and much less expensive.
This classic hydromechanical automatic transmission has 4 fixed gears and a couple of additional modes: first gear only and first-second gear only. Torque from the powertrain is transmitted to the automatic transmission via a torque converter.

Disadvantages of the Jatco JF414E gearbox
- This is a very reliable automatic transmission with a decent service life, but in the first few years of production, the needle bearings between the pump hub and the High-Drum were quite common. Service calls for replacement of the central double-row bearing were slightly less frequent.
- The transmission’s weak point is the control unit, which is located above the front fender liner and suffers from moisture. The brake pedal sensor also fails, causing the shift lever to lock.
- After 100,000 km, installing an external filter is recommended, as by this point the lubricant is already heavily contaminated with dirt from worn clutches and can clog the valve body channels. If jerking occurs, a complete oil change should be performed immediately, removing the oil pan.
- Minor issues with the automatic transmission are also rare; the only issues that can be noted are pump seal leaks, wear on the transmission mount, damaged wire insulation, and oxidation of the solenoid contacts.
