The Jatco RE0F06A continuously variable transmission was assembled from 1997 to 2007 and installed in right-hand drive Nissans. In the European market, this automatic transmission is primarily known from the popular Primera model. The transmission was even paired with 2.5-liter engines with up to 245 Nm of torque.

Disadvantages of the Jatco RE0F06A gearbox

  • The most common cause of failure is transmission overheating due to a clogged radiator;
  • The second most common cause is decreased oil pressure, which contributes to rapid wear;
  • Wear on the surface of the cones causes the belt to jump and then break;
  • The CVT only likes original oil and often does not tolerate alternatives;
  • The stepper motor, which regulates the automatic transmission’s gear ratio, often fails.
