The Jatco JR401E (or 4N71B) 4-speed automatic transmission was assembled from 1983 to 1997 and installed in rear- and all-wheel-drive Nissan models, as well as Mazda under the N4A-EL designation. This transmission is based on the 3-speed 3N71B and is available in two versions: the L4N71B and the E4N71B.

Disadvantages of the Jatco JR401E gearbox
