Disadvantages of the Toyota UA80 gearbox
- Such automatic transmissions produced before 2018 were subject to recall due to manufacturing defects.
- But in general, this is a very reliable gearbox if you keep its cooling system clean.
- High temperature reduces the life of Teflon rings and oil pressure drops.
- And low pressure causes the clutches in the bags to burn, then the steel discs, and so on.
- Even during active driving, the valve body quickly becomes clogged with friction wear products.
