Disadvantages of the Toyota UB80 gearbox
- Owners of gearboxes in the first years of production often complained about lubricant leaks.
- Otherwise, this is a reliable automatic transmission if you keep its cooling system clean.
- High temperatures wear out Teflon rings and the oil pressure drops.
- Then, due to low pressure, the clutches in the bags burn and the gearbox begins to push.
- Other problems are associated with contamination of the valve body with friction wear products.
