The transmission was installed on:

- Mercedes E-Class W213 in 2016 – 2018;
- Mercedes GLC-Class X253 in 2015 – 2022;

Disadvantages of the Mercedes 716.7 gearbox
- This is a very reliable manual transmission;
- It essentially has only one known issue related to transmission overheating;
- The cooling system of modern Mercedes-Benz vehicles has two expansion tanks;
- And many owners don’t notice when the coolant level in the lower tank drops;
- And since the manual transmission heat exchanger is connected to it, an overheating error appears.
