Disadvantages of the Toyota AC60E gearbox

  • In the first years there were complaints about jerking when shifting from second to third gear;
  • An updated firmware appeared in 2016 and in most cases it solved the problem;
  • The main problems of the automatic transmission today are related to wear of the torque converter lockup clutch;
  • Under active driving the valve body solenoids get clogged with clutch wear debris;
  • It is also worth noting that with powerful diesels the Forward drum does not last long.
