Disadvantages of the Toyota AE80F gearbox
- In the first years the automatic transmission suffered from jerking, snatching and delayed shifts;
- The manufacturer released a series of new firmware updates and fixed everything by 2017;
- Today the main problem is rapid contamination of the transmission fluid;
- Change the fluid more often and the gearbox will cover several hundred thousand kilometers;
- It is also important to keep the cooling system clean, as this greatly affects its service life.
