Disadvantages of the VW AL651 gearbox
- This is a completely reliable automatic transmission if you update the lubricant and prevent it from overheating.
- High temperatures reduce the service life of the mechatronics board by up to 100 thousand km.
- When driving aggressively, the torque converter clutches wear out and this dirt clogs the valve body.
- Also, frequent and sharp acceleration can simply crack the 4-5-6 gear drum.
- The remaining gearbox problems are associated with wear of the bushings and frequent oil leaks.
