Disadvantages of the Chrysler 62TE gearbox

  • The most common weak point of an automatic transmission is the low-pressure drum, which simply breaks;
  • The solenoid unit in this transmission also doesn’t have the longest lifespan;
  • By 100,000 km, one of the solenoids or the EPC sensor usually needs to be replaced;
  • After 200,000 km, the bushings often need to be replaced due to vibration, as does the speed sensor;
  • This transmission doesn’t like prolonged slippage, which can damage the planetary gear.
