The Opel AF13 4-speed automatic transmission was produced by the company from 1993 to 2000 and was installed in many compact models such as the Astra, Corsa, and Tigra with engines up to 1.6 liters. This automatic transmission was essentially just one variant of the popular Aisin AW60-40LE.

Disadvantages of the Opel AF13 gearbox
- This is a reliable Japanese automatic transmission, and all its problems stem from age and skimping on oil;
- Even the torque converter lockup clutch wears out only after 200,000-250,000 km;
- When the torque converter clutch wears critically, its seal begins to leak;
- A significant drop in oil level is dangerous for the planetary gear, which is rather weak;
- Also, the input and output speed sensors of this series of automatic transmissions regularly fail.
