The F28 6-speed manual transmission was produced at the German Getrag plant from 1992 to 1996 and was installed exclusively in all-wheel drive Opel Calibra and Vectra models with the 2.0-liter C20LET turbo engine. This manual transmission is widely used for swaps on other models.

Disadvantages of the Opel F28 gearbox
- This is a very reliable manual transmission, but its service life is highly dependent on operating conditions;
- A weak point of this manual transmission is leaks through the gearshift lever shaft seal;
- The lever also sticks due to critical wear of the plastic sleeve and the gearshift sleeve;
- Forums also complain about the gear selector mechanism quickly becoming loose;
- At high mileage, bearings may begin to hum, most often on the transmission input shaft.
