Disadvantages of the Opel F16 gearbox
- This is a very reliable and durable manual transmission, and it essentially has only one weak point;
- The gear selector mechanism becomes loose even after relatively low mileage;
- Shifting difficulties are also common due to wear on the clutch linkage bushing;
- Remaining problems with this transmission are typical for mileage exceeding 200,000 km;
- Forums are littered with complaints about wear on the synchronizers and differential pinion shaft.
