The transmission was installed on:
- Opel Omega A (V87) in 1989 – 1994;
- Opel Omega B (V94) in 1994 – 2001;
- Opel Senator B (V88) in 1989 – 1993.
Disadvantages of the Opel R28 gearbox
- This is a very reliable manual transmission, and problems only occur at high mileage;
- The most common complaint is a loose gearshift lever, which breaks the plastic ring and bushings;
- Transmissions of this series also often leak oil through the gearshift seals;
- After 200,000 km, the input shaft bearing may start humming and require replacement;
- Overly active owners will also have to replace the first-gear synchronizers.
