The Toyota U240F 4-speed automatic transmission was produced in Japan from 1998 to 2003 and was installed on all-wheel drive versions of the Nadia and Vista, including the Vista Ardeo wagon. This transmission was paired with the 2.0-liter 3S-FE and 3S-FSE petrol engines.

The transmission was installed on:
- Toyota Nadia 1 (XN10) in 1998 – 2001;
- Toyota Vista 5 (V50) in 1998 – 2003.
Disadvantages of the Toyota U240F gearbox
- As with the similar front-wheel drive gearboxes, there were many ECU failures in the early years;
- In second place come the problems with the rear cover of the transmission, typical of the series;
- By around 150,000 km the Teflon rings wear grooves on the cover support;
- The oil pressure in the system then starts to drop and the clutch packs begin to burn;
- All the other problems here are related to the valve body being clogged with wear debris.
