Disadvantages of the Toyota U441E gearbox
- On Toyota models this gearbox is paired with engines up to 1.3 liters and holds up well;
- Problems start after 200,000 km due to wear of the line pressure solenoid;
- The oil pressure in the system then starts to drop and the clutch packs begin to burn;
- At high mileage the oil pump seal also often leaks, which is dangerous for the gearbox;
- The rear cover problems typical of all U-series transmissions occur here as well.
