Disadvantages of the Toyota U441F gearbox
- The service life of this automatic gearbox depends heavily on how the car is driven;
- With frequent wheelspin the line pressure solenoid wears out quickly;
- The oil pressure in the system then starts to drop and the clutch packs begin to burn;
- Closer to 200,000 km the oil pump seal often leaks, which is dangerous for the transmission;
- At high mileage the retainer of the main thrust bearing also often works loose;
- Vibrations then appear and destroy the bearings of the planetary gear train;
- The rear cover problems typical of U-series gearboxes also occur here.
