The 6-speed manual transmission VW MQ350 with index 02M and 02Q has been produced by the company since 1997 and is installed on almost all models of the concern with powerful gasoline and diesel engines. Initially, the gearbox was designed for engines up to 320 Nm, and the latest versions can handle 400 Nm.

Disadvantages of the VW MQ350 gearbox
- This is a reliable manual transmission and the problems described below occur at high mileage.
- A known weak point of this manual transmission is the rear input shaft bearing.
- At first you hear a hum, then the shaft begins to play and breaks the groove in the back cover.
- With frequent sharp starts, the synchronizer clutches can wear out quite quickly.
- Also, the forks of the gear shift mechanism do not always withstand aggressive driving.
