Disadvantages of the VW MQ200 gearbox
- This is a completely reliable gearbox, but it really doesn’t like sudden starts and slipping.
- For an overly active owner, the synchronizers may crackle by 50,000 km.
- Another weak point is the short-lived differential bearings.
- Often the axis of the satellites gets caught in it, which can lead to its destruction.
- Also on specialized forums they often complain about lubricant leaks and wear of the switching mechanism.
