Disadvantages of the Aisin AW73-41LS gearbox
- This is a reliable automatic transmission, but it doesn’t like frequent, sharp acceleration or prolonged wheel spin;
- Under regular, high loads, the reverse drum simply warps;
- Then its mounting points in the rear cover break, and the oil pressure drops;
- The planetary gear sets, in turn, don’t tolerate low oil pressure;
- Other automatic transmission problems are typical and are caused by contamination of the valve body with wear products.
