The transmission was installed on:
- Toyota Platz 1 (XP10) in 1999 – 2005

- Toyota Vitz 1 (XP10) in 1999 – 2004
Disadvantages of the Aisin AW80-40LE gearbox
- Since this transmission is installed with low-power engines, it has a decent service life;
- With sedate driving and frequent oil changes, the automatic transmission can easily last up to 300,000 km;
- Closer to 250,000 km, the linear pressure solenoid usually wears out critically;
- Then the lubrication pressure in the system drops, and the clutch packs begin to burn;
- Also, after 200,000 km, the oil pump seal may leak, which is dangerous for the transmission;
- Problems with the thrust bearing and rear cover are common to the entire U-series.
