The Chrysler 47RH (or A618) 4-speed automatic transmission was produced from 1993 to 1995 and was installed in Dodge Ram 8.0-liter Magnum engines and 5.9-liter Cummins diesel engines. Disadvantages of the Chrysler 47RH gearbox
- This is a reliable automatic transmission, but problems do occur at high mileage;
- Renew the torque converter clutch every 150,000 km, otherwise the solenoids will become clogged with dirt;
- Lower pressure will cause the clutches in the Direct and Forward clutch packs to burn out;
- At 200,000 km, the brake band and reverse drum often need to be replaced;
- Also, the unreliable centrifugal regulator and wiring are often criticized on forums.
