Disadvantages of the GM 10L90 gearbox
- In the early years of production, this automatic transmission caused quite a bit of trouble for owners;
- Forums are littered with complaints about jerking, jolting, or abrupt shifts;
- A number of new firmware updates have already been released, which have resolved many of the issues;
- An automatic transmission whine is often heard due to misalignment of the oil pump drive gear;
- Also worth noting is the weak plastic oil pan, but an aluminum alternative is also available.
