Disadvantages of the GM 9T65 gearbox
- In the early years, this automatic transmission had many problems, but most have already been fixed;
- Dealers updated the software, changed the oil, valve bodies, or torque converters;
- It’s important to note that the solenoids are very sensitive to lubricant purity;
- The automatic transmission’s parking mechanism often fails due to a jammed valve;
- Some also had to replace a defective shift lever under warranty.
