Disadvantages of the Mercedes 724.1 gearbox
- This is a completely new gearbox and there are no large statistics on its malfunctions yet.
- On specialized forums they complain about various glitches when driving in traffic jams or starting up a hill.
- A number of new firmwares have been released and most software problems have been fixed.
- As before, with overly active driving you can burn out clutches even up to 100,000 km.
- And don’t forget to renew the lubricant in the gearbox or the mechatronics will become clogged with wear products.
