The Toyota A343F 4-speed automatic transmission was assembled in Japan from 1989 to 2014 and was installed on especially large SUVs such as the Land Cruiser 100 and the related Lexus LX470. There are two versions of this automatic transmission: the standard AW30-43LE and the reinforced AW30-43LS.

Disadvantages of the Toyota A343F gearbox
- This is a robust gearbox, but it is fitted to large SUVs with powerful engines;
- That is why the service life of this transmission depends entirely on how it is driven;
- With an overly active owner the torque converter lockup clutch wears out before 200,000 km;
- The valve body then gets clogged with wear debris and the gearbox jerks and snatches;
- In the most neglected cases shaft vibrations destroy the oil pump bushing.
