Disadvantages of the VW AQ260 gearbox
- This is a completely reliable gearbox, but its service life is greatly reduced due to overheating.
- Keep an eye on the cooling system or serious repairs await you by 150,000 km.
- Renew the gearbox oil every 60,000 km or the valve body will become clogged with wear products.
- If you miss the wear of the torque converter clutches, the vibrations will break the oil pump bushing.
- Also, the weak points of the gearbox include short-lived planetary gear washers.
