Disadvantages of the AW35-51LS gearbox
- The main problem with this gearbox is its rarity and finding a donor can be very difficult;
- But in terms of reliability, it’s not bad at all and breakdowns only occur at high mileage;
- After 250,000 km, the torque converter locking clutch often wears out;
- Then the friction wear products clog the solenoids and the automatic transmission begins to push;
- Then strong shaft vibrations appear, which break the oil pump bushing.
