Disadvantages of the Aisin TF-80SD gearbox

  • This is a reliable gearbox, it is ruined by a weak cooling system and rare replacement of lubricant.
  • The heat exchanger gets clogged already at 100,000 km and it is better to install an external radiator.
  • Overheating greatly reduces the service life of the sealing rings and the pressure in the system drops.
  • Then the friction clutches start to burn and the first to fail is most often the C2 clutch pack.
  • It is advisable to change the oil every 60 thousand km or the hydraulic unit will not last long.
