The 6-speed automatic transmission Aisin TF-80SD was produced in Japan from 2009 to 2018 and was installed on a number of popular Volvo models based on the P3 platform. This transmission was essentially an updated modification of the TF-80SC with its own valve body.

The transmission was installed on:
- Volvo S60 II (134), S80 II (124), V40 II (525), V60 I (155), V70 III (135), C70 II (542), XC60 I (156), XC70 III (136).
Disadvantages of the Aisin TF-80SD gearbox
- This is a reliable gearbox, it is ruined by a weak cooling system and rare replacement of lubricant.
- The heat exchanger gets clogged already at 100,000 km and it is better to install an external radiator.
- Overheating greatly reduces the service life of the sealing rings and the pressure in the system drops.
- Then the friction clutches start to burn and the first to fail is most often the C2 clutch pack.
- It is advisable to change the oil every 60 thousand km or the hydraulic unit will not last long.
