The 6-speed automatic transmission Aisin TF-81SC was assembled in Japan from 2005 to 2024 and was installed on many Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover models under its own index AF21 and AWF21. The transmission was also installed on powerful versions of the Mazda 6 and CX-7 crossovers as AW6A-EL.

Disadvantages of the Aisin TF-81SC gearbox
- This gearbox is installed with powerful engines and the torque converter clutch wears out quickly.
- Then wear products clog the hydraulic unit and jolts appear when shifting.
- Other problems are associated with overheating of the automatic transmission, so keep an eye on the cooling system.
- Overheating reduces the service life of the sealing rings and the lubrication pressure in the system drops.
- This quickly burns out the clutches, starting with the C2 clutch pack (4-5-6 gear).
- The weak points of the transmission also include the oil pump bushing and the brake band.
- Mazda cars have their own firmware and their differential splines often break off.
