Disadvantages of the Aisin TF-82SC gearbox
- This is a reliable automatic transmission, but it has a weak cooling system and it is better to improve it.
- The heat exchanger can become clogged up to 100,000 km and the automatic transmission will constantly overheat.
- High temperatures damage the sealing rings and the oil pressure drops.
- Then the friction clutches start to burn out and the C2 clutch pack is usually the first to fail.
- It is also important to change the oil every 60,000 km or the hydraulic unit will not last long.
