Disadvantages of the GM 4T80 gearbox
- This is a reliable and durable automatic transmission with a service life of over 300,000 km;
- The main problem is that owners forget to change the oil and filters;
- As a result, the solenoids become clogged with dirt, causing slippage during gear shifts;
- Ignoring this leads to expensive overhauls or the search for a used transmission;
- The automatic transmission lever can also jam in gear due to a broken plastic retainer.
