The Jatco JF017E or CVT8 RE0F10E or RE0F10G has been produced by the company since 2012 and is installed in Renault and Nissan vehicles with powerful V6 and diesel engines. Two versions of this transmission are available: with a BOSCH push belt and a LuK pull chain.

In 2012, Jatco introduced a replacement for its JF010E CVT for high-power engines. The new transmission is now used not only with V6 powertrains but also with diesel engines. There are two versions of the transmission: a very rare version with a belt and a much more common version with a chain:
- RE0F10E with a BOSCH push belt for engines with torque up to 300 Nm;
- RE0F10G with a LuK pull chain for engines with torque up to 380 Nm;
As with the JF016E, the JF017E’s design is based on the popular JF011E CVT, so the 16th and 17th CVT models are very similar and share many common parts. Here, the stepper motor in the valve body was also replaced with solenoids-regulators, the power range of the transmission and the locking zone of the torque converter were expanded, and the ability to shift eight virtual gears using special steering wheel paddles was added.

Disadvantages of the Jatco JF017E gearbox
- In most Infiniti-Nissan models, the transmission cooler is poorly located under the front left fender liner, and therefore tends to become dirty very quickly. If it’s not cleaned, the transmission will constantly overheat, which will impact its service life.
- This CVT is based on the JF011E, whose splines are not designed for the engine’s high torque and wear out quickly. With frequent standing starts, the splines on the transmission hub can wear out after only 50,000 to 80,000 kilometers.
- To improve performance, engineers expanded the torque converter lockup zone, which resulted in rapid buildup of wear debris and its spread throughout the CVT. They clog the oil pump’s pressure relief valve, causing vibrations in the transmission.
- In this transmission, the stepper motor has been replaced by regulator solenoids, which quickly wear out from dirty oil. And due to the lack of a calibration module, if even one solenoid fails, you’ll have to buy a new valve body.
