Disadvantages of the Jatco JF403E gearbox
- All problems with this reliable automatic transmission are related, one way or another, to oil contamination;
- Friction wear products are carried by the lubricant throughout the transmission, clogging everything;
- Clogged valve body solenoids cause jerking and lurching during shifts;
- A leaking pump seal is a sign of wear in the torque converter lockup;
- Due to oil starvation, the rear planetary gear splines quickly wear out.
