Disadvantages of the Jatco RS5F91R gearbox
- This is a fairly reliable and durable transmission, but it’s quite noisy;
- Until 2008, the 1-2 synchronizer didn’t last long and was replaced with a dual synchronizer;
- After 150,000 to 200,000 km, the secondary shaft bearings often wear out and begin to hum;
- There are also forum posts describing cases of longitudinal play in the primary shaft;
- There are also reports of grease leaks from under the gear selector shaft or through the drive seals.
