Disadvantages of the Opel M22 gearbox
- This is a fairly rare manual transmission, and there’s minimal information about its failures;
- It’s generally praised on specialized forums, especially for its ease of shifting;
- A number of Astra 1.4 Turbo owners replaced their transmission under warranty at 30,000 km;
- It’s also worth noting that the lubricant volume is small, so it’s important to monitor for leaks.
