CVT Toyota K114

The Toyota K114 gearbox and all-wheel drive K114F have been produced at the Japanese plant since 2013 and are installed on models such as Avensis, RAV4 and C-HR with a 2.0-liter 3ZR-FAE engine. There is a strengthened version of this gearbox for a 2.5-liter engine with the index K115 – K115F.

This series includes: K110, K111, K112, K114, K115, K120.

Disadvantages of the Toyota K114 gearbox

  • The most well-known problem of the gearbox is the modest life of the cone bearings.
  • In second place are shocks due to contamination of the valve body, change the lubricant more often.
  • If you do not pay attention to this, then you will face an expensive repair with a belt replacement.
  • For the same reason, due to oil starvation, the oil pump bushing may turn.
  • Also, the resource of this CVT greatly depends on the cleanliness of its cooling system.
