Disadvantages of the VW 01N gearbox
- The gearbox has no problems with reliability; breakdowns begin only after 100,000 km.
- Typically, a service station is contacted when the solenoids and their wiring are dirty or worn.
- This automatic transmission is afraid of overheating; at best, its rubber-coated pistons will melt.
- In the electrical part of the transmission, speed sensors most often have to be replaced.
- A sudden failure of the reverse gear occurs due to the rotation of the return springs.
