Disadvantages of the GM 10L80 gearbox
- Early-production automatic transmissions caused a lot of problems for their owners;
- Forums are full of complaints about jerking, jolting, and abrupt shifts;
- A number of new firmware updates have been released, and many problems have already been resolved;
- The transmission can also whine loudly due to misalignment of the oil pump drive gear;
- The weak plastic oil pan is also worth noting; many people replace it with an aluminum one;
