Disadvantages of the Jatco JR509E gearbox
- A very reliable automatic transmission can run up to 200,000 km without any repairs;
- Changing the oil every 100,000 km will increase the transmission’s lifespan by another 50%.
- Dirty oil gradually clogs the solenoids, causing jerking during shifting.
- A leaking pump seal indicates wear in the torque converter lockup.
- During intense acceleration, the overrunning clutch built into the OD drum spins.
