The Opel AF30 4-speed automatic transmission was produced in Japan from 1996 to 2003 and was installed exclusively in the Opel Sintra minivan and the first-generation Saab 9-5, under the designation FA47. This automatic transmission is essentially just one variation of the well-known Aisin AW50-42LE.

- Saab 9-5 I (YS3E) in 1997 – 2001 (as FA47)
Disadvantages of the Opel AF30 gearbox
- This is a very reliable and durable automatic transmission, and all its problems are simply due to old age;
- The transmission is most often criticized for constant leaks and malfunctions due to rotted wiring;
- Around 200,000 km, the torque converter lockup clutch wears out;
- Then the wear products clog the valve body, causing jolts or jerks;
- And if left unattended, the oil pump bushing will break, causing leaks;
- Cracks in the Forward-Direct drum and brake band separation are also common.
