Gearbox Toyota A440F

The Toyota A440F 4-speed automatic transmission has been produced by the company since 1984 and is installed on most models of the extensive Land Cruiser family of SUVs. A modernized version of this transmission is produced under a separate index A442F.

This series includes: A140, A240, A340, A440, A540.

Disadvantages of the Toyota A440F gearbox

  • Owners create real legends about the outstanding reliability of this gearbox.
  • The wear of bushings, especially the oil pump, contributes to a drop in pressure in the automatic transmission.
  • Lack of lubrication leads to accelerated wear of clutches and steel discs.
