The Honda MGHA 5-speed automatic transmission was produced only from 2000 to 2002 and was used in the Acura MDX crossover; in some markets, the similar BGHA was installed. These transmissions proved unreliable and were quickly replaced by the MDKA and BDKA transmissions.
5-speed automatic transmissions: B7WA, MCTA, MGHA, MZHA, PN3A, SPCA, SP5A.

Disadvantages of the Honda MGHA gearbox
- This automatic transmission is considered a failure; due to design flaws, it overheats;
- Many install an additional radiator, like the restyled version of the MDX model;
- Also, the oil, filters, and torque converter clutch must be changed regularly;
- Otherwise, dirty lubricant will lead to rapid wear of the solenoids and valve body channels;
- Weak points of this automatic transmission include the overrunning clutch and the 3rd gear drum.
