The Ford MT88 or Getrag 7MTI550 7-speed manual transmission has been in production since 2021 and is installed in the Bronco SUV line, which is very popular in the American market. Five- and six-speed versions for pickup trucks are also available, designated 5MTI550 and 6MTI550.

Disadvantages of the Ford MT88 gearbox
- This manual transmission is new, and information on it is still limited;
- Early owners often complained of grinding noises when shifting from cold;
- Ford conducted a recall to replace the 6th and 7th gear synchronizers;
- Then, there were regular complaints about 3rd or 4th gear not engaging;
- This prompted another recall to replace the synchronizers.
